CarbonCounted is regulated by a network of consulting partners. For each member of CarbonCounted, the use and generation of CarbonCounted product carbon footprint labels requires annual verification by a consulting partner. Currently the most common standard for verification being used in the system is the GHG Protocol, ISO: 14064 series of standards for greenhouse gas inventories and reporting, ISO 14025:2006 (environmental labeling directions) and PAS 2050. However, the system can maintain multiple standards, which enables companies to change to or add other standards.
