CarbonCounted does not sell carbon offsets. We believe this would be in conflict with the purpose of our program. We believe that the best way to reduce emissions is from the source. That is why we have created our live CarbonConnect carbon supply chain networking web application. It is why we are partnering and supporting companies that provide equipment and consulting to reduce carbon footprints. We want suppliers to reduce their own footprint by implementing sustainable energy sources, as well as leverage the carbon in their supply chain by demanding their suppliers have lower CarbonCounted values for their products. That being said, in almost all cases it is not possible to completely eliminate all sources of carbon dioxide (and carbon dioxide equivalents). This is where carbon offsets can play an important role. CarbonCounted supports the companies that provide legitimate, regulated offsets. In fact, we would like the offset companies themselves to register and be in CarbonConnect so that other companies can select them and offset their CarbonCounted as part of their carbon supply chain.
