By the end of 2009:
- The United States Senate will have considered historic cap and trade bill, a bill that has already been passed by the House of Representatives.
- The UN will have convened 189 countries to strike a new global climate deal to take effect when Kyoto expires in 2012.
- The Canadian Government will have released domestic regulations.
- Provinces and states will have moved forward with their own cap and trade regulatory framework under the auspices of the Western Climate Initiative.
- In jurisdictions around the globe, billions of dollars will have been invested in green stimulus packages to create jobs in energy efficiency and renewable energies.
This year’s topics will include:
- Outlook for Clean Energy, Emerging Technology and Innovation, and Investment Opportunities
- The Road to Copenhagen, US Administration, Public Policy and Implications for Business
- Supply Chain Decarbonization: A Canadian overview and panel discussion focusing on sustainable transportation, optimized logistics, and packaging design
- Corporate Leadership on Carbon Reduction
